With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, and dear friend Ron Pieper, who departed this life on April 1st at the age of 73.
Ronald Eugene Pieper, a devoted son, brother, uncle, loyal friend, and accomplished chemical engineer, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025. Born in 1951, Ron lived a full and vibrant life marked by curiosity, adventure, and a deep appreciation for the world around him.
A proud graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Ron earned an engineering degree and then furthered his education at the University of Houston, obtaining a graduate degree. He spent his career contributing to the field of chemical engineering with intellect and integrity. His myriad professional accomplishments were matched only by his zest for life.
Ron was an avid sports enthusiast, never missing a chance to cheer on his beloved Fighting Illini, Houston Astros and Houston Texans. He had a lifelong passion for travel and embraced every opportunity to explore new cultures, cuisines, and corners of the globe. Whether near or far, Ron lived with intention, soaking in the flavors of life and forging meaningful connections wherever he went.
He was a family man at heart, known for his kindness, humor, and the deep loyalty he showed to those he loved. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Wayne and Louise Pieper, and his brother, William (Sue) Pieper.
Ron leaves behind his brother Roger Pieper (Cindy) of Normal, Illinois, and his sister Linda Shumway (Richard) of Rockton, Illinois, three nephews, two nieces and six great-nieces and nephews, all of whom were blessed by his love, quiet wisdom, and steady presence. His many extended family members and friends will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.
Ron will be remembered not only for his professional legacy but for the deep kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness he brought into every relationship. He will be deeply missed.
