Robin Reginald Foster ,87 passed away May 15, 2024 in Kingwood, Texas. He was born March 5, 1937 in London, England. Rob was a caring ,loving, intelligent, charming, and devoted Husband, Father, Papa, Brother, and Great Grandpa. He is survived by his children Richard, Angela, Sarah (Jon Cox) and Denise. His sisters Shirley, Pamela, and Veronica. His Grandchildren, Madison, Josephine, Jonathan Cox, Christopher and Ethan Foster, Steven Harris Foster, and Great Grandson Rhettlee James Davis. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Helen of 60 years, Brother Christopher, his parents Ruby and Aubrey.
Rob and Helen lived all over the world in places such as Egypt, New Zealand, Holland, Bahrain, and Singapore but Texas was home. You could find Rob working on a oil rig in the North Sea or the Gulf of Suez. When he was at home he was working downtown Houston as a engineer for Brown & Root, Amoco, or some other oil company during his 40+ year career. You may be lucky enough to catch Dad fixing a neighborhood kids bicycle in the garage or tinkering with the MG Midget's motor on the kitchen table. He would love to just head out with all us in tow to go run races like The Polish Pickle 5k run deep in the Heart of Texas somewhere. Rob also loved tennis ,golf, hunting & ranching (Thornton, Tx), and walking the many greenbelts in Kingwood.
"The Man of Steel" a caption reads under a photo taken by The Houston Chronicle newspaper from the early 1980's as Rob ran his 3rd Houston Conoco Marathon at age 50 still hangs on the Foster's fridge. Dad truly lived his life to the fullest and lived the American Dream. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all.
Our family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to an Alzheimer's organization or to their favorite charity in Robin's name.
