Dr. Robert Stephen Grayson of Kingwood, TX, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, with family at his side. He was a caregiver in every sense of the word, from his personal life to his professional calling as a family practice physician. He had the gift of healing, relying on straightforward medical practice as well as an uncanny knowledge of when to listen and what to say. Stephen’s imagination and energy were boundless. He was a graduate of Humble High School, Texas A&M University, and the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He proudly served in the US Air Force as a Flight Surgeon, rising to the rank of Major. In civilian practice in Kingwood for 31 years, he was a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner, a title he considered a privilege and an honor.
Stephen is survived by Ellen, his wife and partner of 40 years; sons Matthew (Marina), Mark, Benjamin (Camille-Claire) and Brett (Lauren); grandchildren Adam, Summer, Iris, Claire and Liana; mother, Mary Grayson; brothers James (Susan) and John (Teresa); sister, Mary Ann; nephews and nieces; and a loving and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, John Robert Grayson.
A celebration of life will be held on May 1st, at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, 5520 Kingwood Dr., Humble, TX 77345.
