Richard Larry Newhouse, age 78, of New Caney, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. He was born on September 8, 1945 in Webster, , Pennsylvania. Rick leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Peggy Newhouse; 3 sons and 2 stepsons, Rick Newhouse and wife Brenda, Robert Newhouse and wife Annmarie, Nick Newhouse, Monte Holden and wife Sharon and Chris Holden and wife Donna; 3 granddaughters, 6 great grandsons, 1 step granddaughter, 1 step grandson, 1 step great granddaughter, 2 step great grandsons and 2 guardian angels, Tim Williams and wife Claudia.
Rick joined the army at age 18. he was in Vietnam, and like most 'Nam Veterans, he had PTSD and agent orange; bad dreams. When he came home people spit on him. The first time a young boy thanked him for his service, he had tears well up in his eyes.
Rick liked to cruise, travel, and visit family. He was a fun loving person, loved his music and was always ready to help others.
A memorial service will be held for Rick on September 21, 2024 at 11am at The Little Country Church, 22152 Baptist Encampment Road, New Caney, TX 77357.
