Paul Edward Moore, Jr. was born on March 17, 1955 and was called to his heavenly home on June 13, 2019. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Susan, his two precious maltipoos, Max and Maggie., his father, Paul E. Moore, Sr., his sister, Amy Allen (David), Tiffany and Stormi, Miranda and Colton, his brother David, sister-in-law Linda (Don) and their children, Craig, Kevin (Arya and Julian) and Alyssa, loving mother-in-law Heidi England (“Granny E”), brothers-in-law, Edward England, Tom and Tish England, Jerry and Cathey England, Bryan (Beverly) and Erik England (Chelsea) and many Oklahoma and Texas nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was born in a snowstorm on March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day) in Tulsa Oklahoma. He was part Choctaw Indian from his mother’s side of the family, and if you asked him about his heritage, his reply was Heinz 57 mix! He was Irish every year on his birthday and received an abundance of green shirts and ties as well as anything else green we could find.
Paul playing the clarinet in four different high school bands and at Stephen F. Austin State University. He loved working on the farm in Sulphur, Oklahoma where his grandparents lived. He talked about hauling hay, feeding cattle, and then learning about pecan trees from his dad. Paul was an Eagle Scout and his scouting knowledge stayed with him forever. He worked in jewelry sales and then entered the audio-visual field. He worked with numerous clients assisting them with conference setups and audio-visual needs throughout his 30+ year career, including the Woodlands Conference Center and Presentation Services (PSAV) at the Hilton Houston Post Oak. He would share his knowledge with many audio-visual specialists over the years.
Paul and Susan met in the summer of 1972 at the local swimming pool in Kingwood, Texas. Four years later they were married and inseparable for 42 years. Their favorite activities were TUTS musicals, Houston Symphony Pops, a memorable trip to the Holy Land, and several cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean, as well as vacations to New York City, Hot Springs, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Florida. They enjoyed a few camping trips. They are charter members of the Kingwood United Methodist Church which recently celebrated a 45-year anniversary.
Paul’s hobbies included a love of music, bowling, golfing, gardening (especially knockout roses), photography (especially helping Heidi with photography of her artwork), bonsai trees, and aquariums. His favorite pastime was staying at home with his fluffy pups. He had a wonderful laugh that many would say made his whole-body shake! He loved shopping with Susan, Linda and Granny E at quilt shows, bookstores and even clothes shopping (where he would be our co-hanger!). His last two big adventures were the celebration of Granny E’s 90th birthday celebration and Alyssa’s college graduation from Texas State University.
The family would like to thank his caregivers over the years, including Dr. Armita Atashband, Dr. Percy Morales, Dr. Srinivas Kumar Rumalla, Dr. Santiago Segurola, Dr. Anthony Hanson, Dr. Mohammad Zia and the staff at Humble Dialysis.
Paul’s favorite charities would be Kingwood United Methodist Church, Goodwill Industries, and Boy Scouts of America.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at 10:00 on August 10, 2019, at the Kingwood United Methodist Church, 1799 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood Texas 77339.
