Patricia Ann Franklin

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Patricia Franklin, peacefully passed away at the age of 79 at home in Humble, Texas, on Sunday, July 21, 2024, after a 7-year journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Up until the end, Patricia maintained her compassion and love of family and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences.

Patricia was born to Cleothe Coleman and Lonel Coleman in Nacogdoches, Texas, on September 5, 1944, and graduated from EJ Campbell High School in 1962. While attending Prairie View A&M University where she met her beloved, Clarence Franklin and married on August 22, 1964. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, celebrated in a quaint ceremony in her family raised home. Together, they moved to Houston, Texas the same year. Together, they raised two children: Angela and Brian who were Patricia’s pride and joy.

Throughout this time, Patricia excelled in creating a beautiful and gracious home and worked for many years as an exceptional executive secretary, and retired working as a dedicated HOA board member.

Family was Patricia's crowning glory. She had loving relationships with her sisters, brothers, cousins, and friends, and she made a point to be as engaged as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Patricia was known for being a fine cook. She was known best for making delicious mouth - watering homemade rolls, old-fashioned ice cream, a scrumptious pecan pie, and for giving out the best hugs.

In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill. Your memory is a keepsake, with which we’ll never part. God has you in his keeping; we have you in our hearts.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Franklin and both her parents, Cleothe and Lonel Coleman. She is survived by her children Angela M Hill and Brian K Franklin Sr; five grandchildren, Anterrika Hildreth, Kristofer Ward, Reginald Hill, Brian K Franklin Jr., and Tayla Franklin; four great-grandchildren, Reginald Hill Jr., Cayson Hills, Ryan Hill, and Avery Hildreth; three sisters, Sylvia Marshall, Brenda Coleman, and Sherilyn Colston; and two brothers, Robert Coleman and Kelvin Coleman.

A visitation for Patricia will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A reception will occur Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A committal service will occur Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cremations, 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd, Humble, TX 77338.
