MaryAnn St. Onge

She was born June 27, 1930, to Italian immigrants, Louise, a homemaker, and Joseph Ferreri, a businessman, both from Albany, NY. She was the younger sister to Jerome. As a young adult Mary Ann was diagnosed with epilepsy, a disease that marked her life, but one she managed with dignity and grace.

She worked for the N.Y. Telephone Company until she married her childhood sweetheart, Alfred J. (A.J.) St.Onge, on November 6, 1955 at Holy Cross Church in Albany, NY. They were married for 54 years and had three daughters, Donna, Carol, and Rita. Mary Ann and A. J. settled in Kingwood, TX after residing in Albany, NY, El Paso, TX, Battle Creek, MI, Portland, MA, and Schwabisch Hall, Germany. She was a wonderful mother and took great pleasure in people, gardening, animals, and big dinners, surrounded by her family. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Martha’s Catholic Church - a gentle, kind, and strong woman.

She is survived by her husband, COL (RET) Alfred J. St.Onge, Kingwood, TX; daughters, Donna Walls and her husband, David, of Falls Church, VA; Carol Padia and her husband, Joseph (Rick), Kingwood, TX; and Rita Handlin and her husband, Chris, College Station, TX. Her granddaughters are Ashley Vasquez, Rikki Padia, Alexa Padia, Taylor Padia, and Avery Handlin.

All girls’ middle names are “Ann.”

Her brother Jerome Ferreri and sister-in-law, Faith reside in San Antonio, TX.

The visitation and rosary will be at Kingwood Funeral on April 13, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Martha’s Church in Kingwood, TX on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at 11:00am. MaryAnn will be laid to rest at Veterans Memorial
