Mary graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1935 and attended business school in Houston, Texas. She was married to George Gilbert for 45 years until his death in 1981.
Mary loved traveling, cooking, and family.
Mary was preceded in death by her son Mark Gilbert, sister Frances Reid, and her brother Jim Billy Christian. She is survived by her loving family; children, Frances Bratton and
husband Todd; grandchildren, Shelley Capriotti and husband Chris, Mark Bratton and wife Jennifer; great grandchildren, Jonathan and Vincent Capriotti, and Will Bratton.
