Mary Grace Baker, age 29, of Houston, Texas, passed away unexpectedly August 31, 2024. She was born March 31, 1995, at West Houston Hospital. Mary was a force of nature from the start, being a surprise blessing baby, and nothing slowed her down. She was passionate about life, artistic, and kind. When she entered a room, you knew it. She had no filter, was afraid of no one and nothing. She would alternatively make you laugh or shake your head. Mary was an old soul, and often counseled people years older than herself. Her short life was full of challenges, and she fought many demons very bravely and for more years than anyone had thought possible. She will be greatly missed.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved maternal grandmother and grandfather Josephine and Jerome Thomas; her paternal grandfather Freddy Baker; her nephew Aaron Baker. Mary is survived by her mother Sue Baker; her aunts Marilyn Berman and Carolyn (and Richard) Demont; her uncle Anthony Thomas; her paternal grandmother Della Mae Luker; her Aunt Etorchia (and Ken) Johanning; Uncle Jimmy (and Lucinda) Morris; her brothers Dan Baker and Sam (and Heather) Baker; her nephew Colton Baker; her half-brother Jeremiah (and Laura) Baker; her nephew and niece Preston and Olivia Baker; her stepsisters Alexandria (and Hilarie) Bryant and Amanda Blanchard and niece Kaylee Blanchard; her father and stepmother Randy and Bobette Baker; and a host of friends from all over God’s creation because she never knew a stranger.
A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, the 13th day of September, 2024, at Kingwood Dignity Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas 77339, with a reception following.
