Margaret Eloise Warren Ponder, 91, of Kingwood, passed from this life on Saturday August 2, 2014, with her loving family by her side. She was born March 13, 1923 in Rayville, LA to Joseph Lloyd and Doris Dunham Warren.
Margaret was born and raised in northern Louisiana. As a young woman she met the love of her life, Art Ponder, in Monroe, LA. They were married on September 4, 1943 in Biloxi, MS. She had many different hobbies and organizations that she was involved in such as PEO, Merry Sherries Bridge Club, Aurora Garden Club, and volunteering at the Methodist Church. Margaret was known as a quiet volunteer that worked hard. She was a genuine friend, and a great role model of a strong independent, hardworking, optimistic, loving woman. Margaret was kwon to her family as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Margaret touched the hearts of all those that knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandra Kay Ponder; and son Ronald Warren Ponder.
Those left to honor and cherish the memory of Margaret’s life are her beloved husband of 71 years, Art Ponder; daughter, Jan Sherrill and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Michael Sherrill and wife, Jodi, Lisa Sherrill Caviness and husband Jared, and Jessica Sherrill; great-grandchildren, Beau Sherrill, Max Sherrill, and Maggie Eloise Caviness.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday August 9, 2014 at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living of Kingwood, 2807 Kings Crossing Dr. Kingwood, TX 77345. A reception will follow.
