Louie Serrano, 59, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on May 8, 2024. He was born on February 7, 1965, in Los Angeles, California, to Hector Flores and Ernestina Serrano. He spent his early years in Los Angeles, California and Juarez, Mexico and moved to El Paso around age 10, which he considered to be his hometown.
Louie, known for his wit and generosity, had a distinguished career in law enforcement. He served as a Detention Officer with El Paso County Sheriff in 1987 before joining the El Paso Police Department as a Police Officer until 1993. He then worked as a Police Detective from 1993 to 2003. Louie's dedication and commitment led him to become a Special Agent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, where he served from 2003 until his retirement in 2023. Throughout his career, Louie received multiple awards and recognitions, including being named the El Paso Police Department Detective of the Year and The Texas Narcotics Officer Association Detective of the Year in 2002.
Outside of work, Louie enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, playing golf, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. His love for his family was evident, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
Louie is preceded in death by his father, Hector Flores, mother, Ernestina Villalobos, mother-in-law, Sofia Velazquez, and son, Eric Luis Serrano.
Louie is survived by his beloved wife, Alma Serrano; his children Raul Gonzalez, Monique Tapia, Leah Serrano, and Annette Serrano; his grandchildren Nathaniel Serrano, Chris Tapia, Nathan Tapia, Alyssa Serrano, and Gabrielle Tapia.
Louie Serrano's life will be honored at Kingwood Funeral Home in Kingwood, TX.

A funeral service will be held 3:00PM - 4:00PM Tuesday May 14, 2024 in the chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home, with a visitation to follow from 4:00PM - 8:00PM, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas 77339.
