She was born in Flint, Michigan and attended Atherton High School. Joie was active in band, where she played the clarinet, Hi C club, Wolverine staff (school paper) and performed in the senior play. She attended Flint Junior college, and met her husband Gary, at a singles mixer the first day of college.
Joie provided a loving household for her family, which always came first. She was a Girl Scout leader, and she enjoyed attending her children’s band concerts, scout ceremonies, and sporting events. Joie worked as a clerk typist and a cook in the school kitchen to assist her daughter attend Baylor University. Marie obtained her MSW from University of Houston and is employed at the hospital as a Social Worker. Michael has a career in technology of over 30 years. Her youngest son, Mark, graduated from Sam Houston State with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Joie loved adventure. She traveled to every Disney and local amusement with her family. Her generosity went to many animal charities; one of her favorites was the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado. She enjoyed traveling around the world with her loving husband, planting flowers in her garden, caring for the outdoor birds and squirrels, and playing with her pet bird and dogs.
Joie Adele Reeves is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Gary. She is survived by her children Marie Reeves Moore and her spouse, Jesse Moore; Michael Reeves and his spouse, Alexandra; and Mark Reeves. She is also survived by her grandchildren Mathew and Samantha Moore, and Lauren Arellano Fielding. She will be missed by the whole family.
