John was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter Stumpf and George Stumpf. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley Stumpf; children, John Thomas Stumpf, Jr. (Lisa) and Patricia Callahan (Joe); grandchildren, Nicholas Stumpf and Cassidy Stumpf; best friend, Sydney; brothers, Donald Stumpf (Gerry), Gary Stumpf and Bruce Stumpf (Linda); mother-in-law, Bertha Caplan; sisters-in-law, Irene Carroll (Allen), Marsha Simile (Mario) and Beverly Sweet (Charles).
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A memorial service will follow in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home. A reception will be held at the conclusion of services.
