John Ed DeLoach was born on March 26, 1939 in La Porte, Texas to Pruit Ray and Ruby Mae Caton DeLoach. John joined the Kingdom of God on January 11, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pruit and Ruby, his first wife Carol Ann, his son Shawn, and his oldest step-daughter Maggie. John is survived by his daughter, Dawn Rae; his brother, Pruit Arthur; his sister Betty; his four grandchildren, his step-children; Theresa, Connie, and Regina; numerous step-grandkids; many nieces, and nephews; and he also leaves behind his third wife Elizabeth.
John was an extremely successful businessman who built an empire through his company, DeLoach Vacuum, in Daisetta, Texas. He was definitely well-known in the oil industry but more than that, he was respected.
John was a man who loved to laugh! He appreciated a good joke and one of his favorite pastimes was telling stories about his youth, his father’s youth, and putting a spin on the stories that always drew a laugh from the crowd.
The generous nature of John Ed was evidenced through the many charitable organizations he supported, including several churches. John believed in Eternal Life through Salvation and, in fact, is said to have fought the call to serve behind the pulpit…a call that was answered in ways other than preaching. There was not a judgmental bone in his body. He lived by the scripture, “Judge not lest ye be judged!” and often said that it was not his place to decide about one thing or another because people would have their own day of Reckoning. He felt that it was his job to provide a positive example and a generous heart for those who needed comfort.
John Ed DeLoach was a man’s man, a ladies’ man, a business man, a generous man, but most of all he was a RESPECTED man. He will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace, John Ed.
