James Edgar Davis, Jr. of Kingwood, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011. He was born February 1, 1929 to James Edgar Davis, Sr. and Alice Moseley Davis in Dawson, Texas. Jimmy considered himself a “school man” having spent his career in the Galena Park Independent School District. He was gentle, supportive, caring and loyal to family and friends. He had a lively sense of humor and an insatiable curiosity about the world and all that is in it. Golfing, model railroading and civic involvement were Jimmy’s avocational loves.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Anna Davis; son James Davis III and wife Amy; daughter, Andrea Morgan; grandchildren, Sterling Davis and wife Jenny, Zachary Davis, Bryce Davis, Blackston Morgan and Laura Morgan; great-grandson, Logan Davis; brother, Dan Davis.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2011 in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
