Helen I. Dowell

Helen Jane Dowell, 84, of Splendora, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015. She was born on January 23, 1931, in Slidell, Louisiana, to Joe and Marie Innerarity. Helen was a devout Catholic with strong faith. She had a keen sense of creativity that showed in her painting, gardening and her love for the outdoors. Most of all, Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Helen is survived by her children, Donna Dokkebaken, Ilo Veal (Jimmy), Phillip Dowell, Felicia Klotz (Richard), Curtis Dowell; grandchildren, Dusty Davis, Sandy Watkins, David Davis, Ilo Sanders, Ryan Veal, Troy Veal, Kyle Klotz, Cameron Klotz, Chase Klotz, Clay Klotz, Christopher Dowell, Emily Salter, Logan Dowell and Jackie Ramirez; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Innerarity and Ruthie McManus.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Dowell and daughter, Debra Dowell.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 20000, Loop 494, New Caney, TX 77357. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, TX 77038 at 2:00 p.m.
