Harriet Ernestine Luschei Terrell, born November 1, 1927 in Dallas Texas passed away in Kingwood, Texas on February 3, 2024 at the age of 96. Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Martin McKay Terrell, Sr., her son, Martin McKay Terrell, Jr., her father, George Washington Luschei, her mother, Alice Tom Luschei, and her sister, Alice Luschei Cleary.
Harriet was a 1945 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Dallas, Texas, and attended North Texas Agricultural College in Arlington, Texas in 1946. Harriet married Martin McKay Terrell on August 18, 1946.
Martin was a career military serviceman and took Harriet and their two children all over the United States and Europe during his service to the U.S. Marines and later to the U.S. Air Force. Harriet and her husband and children lived in Texas, California, Florida, Mississippi and overseas in France.
While raising two children, and supporting Martin in his service to the United States, Harriet was a superb room-mother for many elementary classrooms, and the only mother who had the skill to do a back-bend and play hopscotch with the neighborhood children.
When Martin retired from the Air Force in the 1970's, Harriet returned to her favorite hobby, oil painting. She had several art shows and was amazed by the fact that her paintings sold! However, Harriet's pride and joy was her family, with four granddaughters, and ten great grandchildren.
Harriet is survived by her daughter, Dianne Luschei Terrell Lansden and son-in-law Mitchell Baylor Lansden.
Harriet's relatives include: granddaughter, Jill Luschei Lansden Connelly and her husband, William Connelly and their children: Kyle Edward Connelly, Rylee Virginia Dickerson, William Luschei Connelly and Ryan Baylor Connelly; granddaughter Ellen Elizabeth Lansden Farhang and her husband, Michael Farhang, and their children: Elizabeth Lansden Farhang and Matthew Lansden Farhang; granddaughter Sarah Virginia Lansden Istre and her husband Clint Istre, and their children: Gabriella Elizabeth Baker and Luke Lansden Baker; and granddaughter Karen Mitchell Lansden Rosenberg and her husband Zachary Rosenberg and their two children: Samuel Mitchell Rosenberg and Max Louis Rosenberg. Funeral services are on Tuesday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Houston National Cemetery alongside Martin.
