Harold S Sadler

Hubert (known as Harold) was married to Bessie Mae Mix Sadler for 73 years. He is the father of three children. Lynda Louise Sadler Gavioli, (married to Dr. R. Louis Gavioli), Paul Lindsey Sadler (married to Crystal Straube Sadler) and Harold Sidney Sadler, known as Hal (deceased).

Harold was born on January 29, 1933 in Troup, Texas to Mary Irene and Obie Brisco Sadler. He was one of 8 children. Harold was the youngest of his family. He is preceeded in death by his parents and all his brothers and sisters.

He married his childhood sweetheart in 1951. He graduated from Freer High School in 1950 and attended SWTSC in San Marcos, Texas. Continued his education at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX and Odessa Junior College in Odessa, Texas. He was one of the first 15 employees of Sun Oil chosen for Sun's Engineer Technician Program.

Harold retired from Sun Oil/Oryx Energy in 1990 but was involved in the oil industry until he was 84 years old. In 1975 he became the youngest Drilling Manager and International Drilling Manager in Sun Oil/Oryx. His involvement in the Industry kept him on the go and he worked in many countries around the globe and in many states in the USA.

Harold was raised as a Methodist but became a Baptist in 1957. He was an avid outdoorsman, a runner, a jogger until he was 86 years old. He loved fishing, boating, bow hunting, backpacking, and skiing with his family. He loved the Rocky Mountains and the Gulf Coast.

Harold was a dedicated family man and loved his three children, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was proud of their lives and the contributions they are making to our country.

Burial will be at Henry's Chapel in Troup, TX. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
