

Glynda Guthrey Hinton went to be with the Lord on Oct. 14, 2010 in Houston. She is the wife of her childhood sweetheart, Quincy Thomas Hinton, Jr. for 47 beloved years; precious mother to Chris and Tina Hinton, Ben Hinton, Cathy and Andy Giffhorn; wonderful Mimi to Hope and Hardt Hinton, and Austin, Braeden, and Colton Giffhorn; daughter of Glen and Bernice Pierson Guthrey; sister to Judy Guthrey Boagni and Harvey and Connie Guthrey; sister-in-law to Alice Hinton Tilton and her husband Ken Tilton; and aunt to Hank, Tony and Andy Boagni, Natalie and Tyler Guthrey, and Kerrie Tilton Warren and Jacob Tilton. Glynda was a Sunday school teacher, Bible Study Fellowship leader, Elementary school teacher at Woodland Hills Elementary, daughter of the American Revolution, active in establishing the first Republican Woman’s Club in Kingwood, and member and co-historian of Humble Area Retired Teachers Association.
Family will receive friends on Friday, October 15, 2010 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Kingwood Funeral Chapel, 22800 Hwy 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 2 PM at Kingwood United Methodist Church, 1799 Woodland Hills, Kingwood, TX. Graveside Service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Highland Memory Gardens, 6325 Common Street, Lake Charles, LA 70607
She often said her heart went out to the children with cancer she saw at MD Anderson and she wanted to be able to volunteer to help them.
