Glynda and I were members of the Class of 1959.  She and I were cheerleaders together ...I always remember her beautiful face and loving spirit.  Always with a smile, never heard an unkind word from her...she was our homecoming queen...and I know she had many crowns to lay at our Savior's feet.  I will see you one day and we will walk together down the street of gold!

There are no words to tell of this amazing woman we all know and love. She has forever changed so many lives and blessed everyone she knew. I was blessed to have her as my second grade teacher. I raved to all my friends that my 2nd grade teacher came to my wedding and bridal shower. She was a wonderful friend to all she knew and I am so thankful for the friendship her and my mother shared and that I was able to be a part of it. The world will be a little less sweet without her here and heavan just got a little sweeter. She will be missed and my thoughts and prayers go to her family. She maybe gone but she will never be forgotten.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the entire family.  The comments in this guest book reflect the loving and caring individual that Glynda was during her years after high school. She was all of that in Sulphur High School as well.

Mrs. Hinton was the kindest teacher.  In 2nd grade, I was terrified of clowns, and she put stickers over them on worksheets for me.  She touched all of her students by showing us great love and patience, and twenty years later, I feel extremely fortunate to have spent time in her wonderful classroom.  Her hugs were magical.

I was browsing through my Houston Chronicle and saw that beautiful picture  I remembered from the Sulphur High yearbook-that of my beautiful next door neighbor Glynda. Mrs. Hinton was an amazing and a loving teacher she have taught me in 2nd grade so many years. She will be missed by many students. My prayers goes out to her and her family.

I have fond memories of Glynda as a fellow member of the retired teachers.  It was always a pleasure to see Glynda at the meetings.  As the co-historian she made many helpful contributions to HARTA.   Marguerite Baxter

Mrs. Hinton legacy will forever live on not only through her children and grandchildren but through the many, many children whose lives she impacted teaching. She inspired a life long love of learning in me that I am now sharing with my children. I was fortunate enough to have Mrs. Hinton as my 2nd grade teacher. She will forever be my favorite teacher and I feel truly blessed to have spent time with her in the past weeks.

My heart and prayers are with her family in this time. Heaven has another angel.

I had never met Glynda in person but through the testimonies of those who knew her and loved her, she is a new found friend in Christ.  My love and sympathy goes out to the family of this beloved lady.

What beautiful pictures!  Look at the legacy she leaves...a wonderful family to pass on all her grace, wisdom, and love.  I think of her every time I make her gumbo recipe.  She will always be a Riverlawn Drive Mom to me.  Prayers and hugs to all the Hintons and their families!

Glynda Hinton, was the mother to our children, when we couldn't be there.
She was the calming moment to many, many children....who were lucky to
have her for a teacher. I remember the night our PTA, at Woodland Hills
gave her "The lifetime PTA" award. She cried, and so did we. I have never met
a more beautiful sprit, and a beautiful christian. I loved this woman, and my
children did too. Our Lord took this great woman home, and I know I will see
her again someday! Thank you to the Hinton family, for allowing us to share

Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." We don't fully understand all this verse means, but we do know our loss is heaven's gain as Glynda's Lord welcomed her home.  She lived her entire life preparing to live forever with Jesus and now she does.  Glynda is one of the loveliest, sweetest, most faithful friends one could ever have.  Tommy and family, we are asking God for the comfort and peace that only He can give you.  Much love to you.

There is another angel in Heaven now that Glynda has gone to be with the Lord. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Hinton family as they celebrate the life of one of the BEST teachers, friends, wives, mothers, and grandmothers this world has ever known. I am blessed to have worked with Glynda and I am a better person for having known her.

Glenda and I began our friendship at 6 years of age at Henning Methodist Church where we went to Sunday school and church till we graduated from high school. I knew her mom and dad as we saw them often.  She was a beautiful person both inside and out.  What a pleasure it was being with her at our class reunion last year.  It was very heart warming in October when she arrived and the tiara was placed on her head to commemorate her being homecoming queen 50 years before.  She was still just as beautiful.  Our deepest sympathy to her beloved family.

The Sweet Beauty of Glynda...In recent years I have been blessed to see and experiance this sweetness. This, Sweet Beauty, was her heart and soul. The way Glynda lived her life is reflected in the lives of her wonderful, caring, and kind children. Glynda gave the gift of love, kindness, and caring freely to all that knew her. I can remember listening to her as a child and thinking about how kind and gentle she was and how special she made each person who had the chance to know her feel.  She was a wonderful lady. Glynda was such a dear sweet lady.  She was a role model and inspiration to the students she taught and the people with which she worked.  Today another angel definitely got her wings.  My prayer is that God will wrap Glynda's family in his loving arms and lift them up and give them strength at this difficult time.
