Elizabeth "Sissy" Jane Stasney

Elizabeth graduated from Charles Bender High School in Humble, Texas in 1951. She was also the 1950 Houston Fatstock Show and Rodeo Queen for the day as well as Rodeo Sweetheart.

Elizabeth was a member of Faith Family Baptist Church in Kingwood, Texas and the Kingwood Medical Center Aux. Volunteer group for 20 years. She retired as a Senior Vice President at Texas Commerce Bank.

Elizabeth was an avid walker that made many lifelong friends along the way.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents George and Lillian Washburn and brother George “Sonny” Washburn.

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Dye, son Alan Sheffield, sister Ruth Gregersen, sister-in-law Charlcye Washburn, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A special thanks is expressed for the many prayers from the family and friends and the medical staff at Kingwood Medical Center. Elizabeth loved you all dearly.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas 77339. There will also be a funeral service on Thursday, January 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Kingwood Funeral Home Chapel. Elizabeth will then be taken to her final resting place at Brookside Memorial Park.
