Dorothy June Spence was born Steubenville, OH to Homer and Verna Hendrickson in June of 1931. She went to school at Wintersville High School in Ohio. She married Robert Ray Spence on March 24, 1953 in Colorado Springs, CO. She worked as an allergy technician in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for over 30 years. She was involved in Alter Guild and was a Youth Sponsor at St. Vincent’s Episcopal Church in Bedford, TX for over 10 years before moving to Houston. She marched in President Truman’s 1949 Inaugural Parade as a member of her State Champion Navy Belles Drum Corps Band.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Robert Ray Spence, her brothers Robert and Charles Hendrickson, her sister Hazel Miller, and her parents Homer and Verna Hendrickson.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Robert Ray Spence Jr., William “Bill” Spence and husband Norbert Mahoney, Janet Beaty and husband Dennis Beaty; Grandchildren: Christina Bowman and husband Noel Bowman, Rebekah Beaty, and Robert Ray Spence III; Great Grandchildren: Amelia Bowman, Vivian Bowman, Graham Bowman and Mikayla Spence.

Memorial Service will be 10:30 am, Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Arbor Terrace.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday October 12, 2016 in Kingwood with Father Bill Richter of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Kingwood Funeral Home.
Final internment of ashes will be at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville Ohio with date to be determined.
