David W. Wilson, 69, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away on May 30, 2013. He was born Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 30, 1944. He graduated from McLain High School and went on to graduate from Tulsa University with a degree in Mathematical Engineering. He married his loving wife, Patricia, in Pryor, Oklahoma on March 26, 1962. Although David’s true passion was for his wife, kids and grandkids, he spent 47 years in the oil and gas industry, gaining him the title of “gas guru” and being quoted in several oil and gas publications. He worked at Sunray DX, Sun Oil, Champion Petroleum, Williams Exploration, Consolidated Oil & Gas, Gas Acquisition Services and Price Waterhouse Cooper, and RoDa Drilling. He was serving on the board of Energen in Birmingham, Alabama, Santanna Energy Services in Austin, Texas and Double Eagle Petroleum Company in Denver, Colorado.
David was preceded in death by his father, William Paul Wilson, mother, Martha Louise Murphy Wilson, and his grandson, Samuel Vincent DellaCella. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Turner Wilson; daughters, Holly DellaCella (John), and Martha Buckner (Bill); grandchildren, Stephen DellaCella (Sarah Godwin), Annie DellaCella, and Mattie DellaCella; siblings, Dennis Wilson, Cathy Kinney, Lonnie Wilson, Debbie Russell, and Nancy Weibel. David is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas, 77339. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery, 22271 Highway 59 North, Porter, Texas 77365.
