David was born February 10, 1959 in Houston, Texas to Billy and Jane Wesson. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and Texas Tech University. He was a certified public accountant and worked his entire career in the oil and gas industry for Tenneco, Swift Energy and Hyperdynamics before retiring. David fulfilled his lifelong retirement dream of living on a lake when he moved to Lake Palestine in 2018. There he made new friends with neighbors, found a fishing buddy and enjoyed the benefits of small town living.
David loved to fish, hang out with his buddy, Toby, and most recently found adventure riding his motorcycle. He was a man of God who spent time in prayer and in his Bible everyday. David was a proud and devoted father to his daughter, Leslie, and loved his family so much. He was a friend to many and kind to everyone he met.
David joins his mother, Jane Wesson, in Heaven. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Franklin and her husband, Kyle, father, Billy Wesson, brothers Ken and Carl Wesson, nephews, nieces and many close cousins. David was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
