Brittany Anne Cone

Brittany Anne Cone, age 35, of Kingwood Texas passed unexpectedly on Friday, May 7th, 2021. She was born on March 29, 1986, in Iowa City, Iowa. Brittany spent her years growing up in Kansas City, Missouri and Kingwood, Texas.

Brittany found eternal life by trusting in our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. This is our comfort as a family and our sure confidence that one day we again be with Brittany.

Brittany was, like all of us, deeply beautiful and deeply flawed, but her flaws did not diminish her God-given beauty. Brittany had a gentle tender heart, was loving and accepting of anyone she came into contact with. She would have taken the clothes off her back to clothe a homeless person or given her last dime to feed a person in need, which she did the day she passed away. Brittany had a deep love for all animals starting at a very young age. Brittany was a true and loyal friend.

Brittany married Kevin Reid in February 2009 and gave birth to their first daughter Addison Stella Louise on April 9th, 2009. She gave birth to their second daughter Alice Sadie Lynn on October 3rd, 2016. One of her greatest accomplishments and joys in life was being the mother to these 2 beautiful girls.

Brittany had been residing in a sober living residential program for the past several months, pursuing recovery from a long substance abuse struggle. We, her family, were encouraged the tide had finally turned toward healing in the long and painful struggle and are saddened by her unexpected death after a sudden illness. In spite of this, we know God works all things according to the counsel of His good, loving, kind and wise plans, that evil did not triumph here and never will and that He promises to work all things for the good of those who love Him. This will be fulfilled for Brittany and her family.

Brittany is survived by her daughters, Addison Stella Louise Reid and Alice Sadie Lynn Reid, parents Scott and Kristen Cone, siblings Amanda, Cassandra, Timothy, Victoria and Jonathan Cone, grandparents Neil Carlson and Marlin and Linda Cone. Sister in law Ashley Cone. Nieces Avery, Violet, Ellia, Hollyn Cone. She is also survived by uncles and aunts, Kris and Trish Cone, Tom Carlson, Mike and Paula Carlson, Kimberly Blunk, Kathleen and Stephen Nebel, along with many cousins and countless treasured friends.

Today we grieve, but not as those who have no hope. We will be reunited with Brittany in the land where the Lord will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for these former things have passed away. In that place, the sun will never set and joy and love will never end. “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”- Job 1:21 ESV
