battle with acute pancreatitis. Barry was born on May 28th, 1969 in St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, MO.
He was father to two lovely daughters Sarah Jane Holladay and Jewel Lee Holladay; one son Jesse Dean
Holladay and a granddaughter Addison Rae Holladay. He was preceded in death by his son Kaleb Daniel
Holladay on March 24, 2020.
He is survived by his parents Daniel Curtis and Nancy Jane Holladay; two brothers Patrick Ward
Holladay and wife Kirsten Rose Holladay; James Boone Holladay and wife Soni Holladay; nephews Bryce
Daniel and Dylan Charles Holladay and niece Bailey Jane Holladay.
Barry graduated from New Caney High and went on to attend Stephen F. Austin University. After
deciding college just wasn’t for him, he left to begin his career in Home Construction. His father
previously had him work on home construction so he went to Galveston and left a note on the door of a
family friend who was building beach homes asking for work. That began his very successful career in
the Houston area as a Homebuilder. He received many awards and recognition as he climbed the ladder
up to Vice President of a very well-known and respected Houston Home Building Company.
Barry was a very hardworking person. While in high school he participated in Cross Country running and
ran in the Houston full Marathon twice and finished both times. He also participated in the Bike Ride to
Austin for Charity with his father and friends. During his building career he participated many times in
Habitat for Humanity.
Barry loved the outdoors and took full advantage of the beautiful lakes and land that Texas offered to
him and his family. He was an avid golfer and loved to take his Mom along Fish and deer were afraid of
him all over Southeast Texas Most of his favorite stories came from times in Galveston and Lake Travis
trips with his children teaching them how to wakeboard and slinging them around on the tube until they
called it quits. He loved driving his Ford Mustang Convertible briefly started a Mustang Car Club in
Kingwood.
We encourage all of his family and friends to attend and celebrate his life and share stories with his
loved ones. The viewing and service will both be held at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Hwy 59 North,
Kingwood TX 77339. Viewing will be on Friday March 12th 2021 from 5 – 7pm. Funeral Services will take
place on Saturday March 13th, 2021 at 2pm.
