Anthony was born July 16, 1947 in Houston, Texas to the late Norman and Banie McLeod. He attended North Shore Senior High School, where he graduated in 1965. He received his teaching degree from the University of Houston in 1969. Anthony became an English teacher in Sheldon ISD where he met the love of his life, Sue McLeod, a Math teacher at the same school. He then went on to earn his counseling degree through Sam Houston State University. An excellent and caring professional, Anthony spent 43 years in education, ending his career helping at-risk students to earn their high school diploma. He was a life-long lover of cars, a world traveler, and ferociously devoted to his family and friends.
Anthony is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Brice and Nicole McLeod; daughter and son-in-law, Meredith and Manuel Rosario; grandchildren Matthew and Maci Rosario; and niece and nephews Carey, John, and Clint McLeod; and close friend, Lynette Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Darwin and John McLeod; and his beloved wife of 42 years, Sue McLeod.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a charitable donation to the American Heart Association in Anthony’s name.
Brice and Meredith would like to sincerely thank the many friends and family who have reached out with their support during this difficult time. It is a true testament to Anthony’s steadfast loyalty to the people around him.
