Please accept my sympathy to the Leake family from someone that flew South America on the DC-10 with Al at Eastern Airlines.  He was the first captain I flew with on it.  Very pleasant to fly with, and a good pilot.  I have video footage from one of the flights made in the cockpit, between Argentina and Chile, and with Al's smiling face in it.  May he rest in peace, and no more long commutes.

Dawn, I cannot begin to tell you how sad I feel.  David and I have lovely memories of Al both in Angel Fire and happy times at the Country Club  in Kingwood with Al always teasing me with that special twinkle in his eye. Al's smile and sense of humor will be missed. We were so sorry to hear of his passing, but he gave it all he had. He's with Scott now, and we know they are happy to be together. Al was my Uncle and even though I hadn't seen him in years he was my favourite Uncle.
My thoughts and prayers are with my Aunt Dawn and my cousins and their families. 
I know by God's Grace that Uncle Al is in Heaven in God's embrace and reunited with Scott.

Al was a wonderful neighbor. He was wise and we enjoyed his insight into what was really important in life. Scott and Al are probably talking up a storm in heaven. You were our best friends in Angel Fire and such a lot of fun!  We loved you both and thought of you often after all of us left Angel Fire.  Our hearts are with you Dawn, and your family, at this difficult time.

Al will be greatly missed.  Al had a wonderful life and was so very proud of Dawn and his sons.  I know Al is at peace knowing his boys have wrapped their loving arms around Dawn to help her get through the days ahead. We will miss his stories and the times we shared with him.  Hold on to all of the wonderful memories you have made with this loving husband, father and friend to many.  Our prayers are with you.

My memories of Al began before I met him.  In 1951, as an aviation cadet, I watched pictures shot from a B-29 as Al landed a SA-16, Grumman Albatross in the Pacific short of the island of Guam.  Returning from a rescue mission, Al had to shut down one engine, then dump fuel in order to remain airborne.  Unable to climb in order to land at Anderson Air Force Base, Al made a successful open sea landing and had the bird towed to a safe harbor for repairs.  Years later, I met and flew, and learned from Al how to fly a cantankerous old machine.     As a neighbor,  Al's sons swam in my pool in Miami, and I always felt that I had four additional sons!   Fond memories of a great family.   Thank you, Al and Dawn.

We were so sorry to hear about Al. It's clear by the picture gallery, he left a legacy of love in your family that will keep going on in the next generations.  You both are wonderful models to look up to.  We are with you and your family in thoughts and prayers.  May His peace that passes all understanding be with all of you.  You and we also, believe that this separation from Al and Scott is temporary and that you will be with both of them again and then forever.  Our hearts break for you in the meantime.
