Wilbur William Moerbe was called home to our heavenly father on Monday, February 21, 2011. He was born on November 15, 1925 to A.P. and Alvina Moerbe. He grew up in an area called Concordia just outside of Bishop, Texas. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II. He also served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life, Frances Hulda Bauman, on November 29, 1949. Wilbur worked as an insulator for many years and was a founding partner of Moerbe Insulation. He was a devoted husband, father, son and grandfather.
Wilbur and Frances raised their son and daughter in Corpus Christi. They moved to Bishop, Texas in 1983 where he became active at American Legion Post #185 and St. Paul Lutheran Church. Wilbur was a kind and gentle man who never met a stranger and whose love was felt by all.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Frances Bauman Moerbe; his parents; brothers, Elmer, Marvin and Wallace Moerbe; and a sister, Doris Jarrett.
He is survived by his son, Garry (Kathy) Moerbe and one daughter, Nancy Moerbe, both of Bishop, Texas; his grandchildren, Kasey Moerbe of Houston, Texas and Chris Moerbe of Bishop, Texas. He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 801 East Main Street, Bishop, Texas with Rev. Matthew T. Ulmer officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bishop, Texas or to the Concordia Cemetery Fund.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
