Santiago G. Morales, of Bishop, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the age of 78. He was born on February 4, 1934, in San Benito, Texas, to Santiago and Consuelo Morales. Santiago worked for the City of Bishop for many years as a mechanic. He loved music and was a well know musician in the area having played with several famous bands. Santiago always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. The legacy he leaves his children is the love he had for the Lord.
Santiago was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-five years, Consuelo “Chelo” Morales, his parents and one brother, Roberto “Beto” Morales. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Yolanda Gutierrez, Norma M. Suarez, Paul (Gracie Acuna) Morales of Portland, Texas; Ana Morales, Jesse Roy Garza all of Kingsville, Texas, and Jimmy Arguijo of Riviera, Texas; one brother, Joe “Pepe” (Gracie) Morales of Ft. Worth, Texas; one sister, Consuelo “Chelo” (Eliseo) DeLeon also of Ft. Worth; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date. Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary and condolences may be offered at turcottepipermortuary.com.
