Francisco Canales Lopez Jr.

Francisco Canales Lopez Jr. , age 97, a resident of Bishop, Texas passed away Wednsday, September 15, 2010 in Kingsville. He was born on November 18, 1912 in Falfurrias, Texas to Francisco Lopez and Cayetana Canales Lopez. Mr. Lopez was employed with Nueces County until his retirement. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. in the 1930’s. Mr. Lopez was a faithful member of Templo Gethsemani Pentecostal Church, Bishop.

Mr. Lopez was preceded in death on January 29, 2004 by his beloved wife, Consuelo B. Lopez.

He is survived by three sons, Joel B. (Olivia) Lopez, Roel B. (Eva) Lopez, both of Bishop, and Noel B. Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; three daughters, Francisca L. Hernandez of Houston, Texas, Rachel L. (Juan) Rios of Rio Grande City, Texas and Mary L. (Felix) Bocanegra of Robstown, Texas; brother, Arturo Lopez of Falfurrias, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held that evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel, Kingsville. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Ruben Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow in Bishop at the Evangelico Cemetery.
