Felix Leal Silguero, age 71, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Kingsville. He was born May 30, 1940 in Kingsville to Apolonio Zapata Silguero and Esther Quintanilla Leal Silguero. Mr. Silguero was a self-employed farrier for 47 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Silguero was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cruz Silguero and Alejandro Silguero; and two sisters, Genoveva Garza and Cruz Welker.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Soveida G. Silguero of Kingsville; two daughters, Noemi Flores (Uriel) of Kingsville and Nelda Salinas (Robert) of Austin, Texas; two sons, Apolonio Silguero of Austin and Alberto Silguero (Cindy) of Kingsville; four sisters, Rufina Parker (Larry) and Lupe Crum (William), both of Virginia, and Lucy Campbell of Round Rock, Texas and Sophia White of Virginia; four grandchildren, Clarissa Fernandez, Stephen Salinas, Claudia Silguero and Sydney Salinas.
Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Romeo Salinas as celebrant. Burial with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Military Funeral Detail will follow in Kingsville at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
