Willie Mae Byford, 86, entered into the Heavenly kingdom on Wednesday (February 10, 2016). Willie Mae was born June 5, 1929, to the late John Arnold and Sophia Fields in Honaker, Va. She was a member of Goshen Valley Freewill Baptist Church for over 30 years. Willie Mae was loved by everyone. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Willie Mae was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Patrick after 33 years of marriage; daughter, Teresa Crawford; step-son, James L. Byford; brother, Donnie Fields; and sister, Anna Lee Griffie. Willie Mae is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, James Byford; two daughters, Brenda Minnick & husband Kenneth and Barbara Nidiffer & husband Ed; son, Bill Patrick & wife Kathy; step-daughter, Mickie Hudson & husband Donald; 13 grandchildren, Melanie, Tina, Blake, Brian, Jason, Jonathan, Justin, Karen, Jessica, Judith, Jenny, Bethany, and Brock; four step-grandchildren, Kimberly, Holly, Shannon, and Derrick; 21 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday (February 13, 2016) from noon to 2 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating. Committal services will be following the funeral service with Brother Mike Bays officiating in the Garden of Love at East Lawn Memorial Park.
