William Henry Stone Jr., 98 passed away during the early morning hours of May 7, 2020 with his daughter and son-law by his side. Henry was born July 13, 1921 to the late Henry and Myrtle (Chandler) Stone in Kingsport Tennessee.
In 1941, he married his high school sweetheart Helen Duncan. Together they started their 75 years together in Kingsport. In 1942, he joined the Navy and served 2 1/2 years during WW-2 in the Pacific and Indian Ocean aboard the Orion, a submarine tender. He worked for 43 years at Tennessee Eastman, after retiring he enjoyed volunteering at Warriors State Park for 19 years as a ranger. He loved fishing, golfing, watching sports, traveling, and loved his church. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsport since 1947.There he served on many committees, as an usher and a Deacon. Henry especially loved spending time with friends and family. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be remembered as a gentle man, always there for others. A giver of his heart and time.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Duncan Stone and two brothers, Fred Allen Stone and Robert Stone.
Left to cherish his memories is daughter Tina Pearson and husband Randy; granddaughter Kara Price and husband Mark; grandson Ryan Pearson and wife Sarah; three great granddaughters, Kallie and Kate Price, Avery Pearson and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special Thanks to Gail Farthing for his kindness and compassion. He was always there for Henry and Tina.
Dr. Marvin Cameron will be officiating a private service. Military Honors conveyed by the American Legion Post 3/265.
