William “Bill” James Harkleroad, age 69, of Kingsport, went home to be with his Savior on Wednesday (May 9, 2018) at his residence with his loving family by his side. Bill was born on October 7, 1948 in Kingsport, TN to the late Vernon & Mag (Browder) Harkleroad.
Bill enjoyed playing music, traveling, wood-working, and spending time with his family and friends. Bill retired from Eastman Chemical after 30 years of dedicated service. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Pauline and Marie; and his brothers, Sam and John.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Sue Harkleroad; his children, Shannon, Tammy, Todd, and step-daughter, Sara; sister, Betty; six grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Committal services will be held on Sunday (May 13, 2018) at 1 p.m. in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Charles Roberts officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Bill’s memory to: Haven of Rest Rescue Mission (624 Anderson Street Bristol, TN 37620).
