A native of Sullivan County, TN, Mrs. Widener was born on July 28, 1926 the daughter of the late Marion Clay and Emma Elizabeth Roller Hicks. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Widener was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Vernon Widner in 2004, by a son, Ray Widener and by her son-in-law, Rollins Pendleton. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Sandra Pendleton of Kingsport, two sons, Phil Widener and Michael C. (Christine D.) Widener both of Kingsport. One sister, Kathleen Lawson. Two special God-children, Madison & Macey Easterling along with several grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services for Mrs. Widener will be conducted on Tuesday September 17, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the East Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
