I am going there to prepare a place for you. Steven Wade Scalf, 34, suddenly left his earthly body and entered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Scalf was born on July 2, 1981 in Sullivan County, Tennessee, the son of Talmadge Scalf and Imogene Rice Scalf. He attended Dobyns-Bennett High School and had previously worked in healthcare. Survivors include his parents, Talmadge and Jean Scalf; one brother, Talmadge Scalf, Jr. and wife LouAnn; one sister, Tammy Gilbert and husband Rick; his special niece, Lindsey Scalf; his special nephews, Travis and Terrance Scalf; best friend, Mary Skeen; special friends, Sarah, Kelli and Jeremy; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, July 24, 2015 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Service for Mr. Steven Wade Scalf will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 at 2:00pm in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charles Bogle officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Hope at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Terrance Scalf, Travis Scalf, Rick Gilbert, Jamie Gilbert, David Doran, and Kelli Lei.
