Sarah Ethel Myers White, age 90, of Kingsport, entered into rest on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Gray. Mrs. White was a Sullivan County native and the daughter of the late W.H. and Annie McClain Myers. She was a homemaker and of the penticostal faith. Mrs. White was a member of Oakwood Bible Church of Baltimore, MD. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Carson White in 1990, sister: Florence Baxter Strickler, Rose Hicks and Carrie Huffman; brother, W.J. Myers and half- brothers: Verlin Myers, Earnest, Vernon and Bill Harkleroad.
Survivors include: son, James C. White, Jr., Pace, FL; granddaughters: Deborah White, Sharon Smith and husband Reece, Pamela Florence and Michele Procup and husband Frank; eight great grandchildren; brother, Rev. Clyde C. Myers and wife Renee, Baltimore, MD; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Oaks, brother-in-law, L.M. White and wife Larraine of Kingsport and Dub White of Michigan; several nieces and nephews and her caregivers for many years: Mary Louise Oaks and Shirley Vineyard and Virginia McClain. The family would like to send thanks to all the caregivers on unit 400 of the Life Care Center of Gray.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Will Shewey, officiating. Music will be provided by Rob Barrett. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
