“The greatest blessing a family can be given is the love of a wonderful mother…our family has been blessed beyond measure. "Sandra “Nicky” Powers, 72, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Powers was born on July 29, 1942 in Kingsport, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John Pierce Fogle and Jennie Jeter Fogle. She was a housewife that served as a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She was a member of the Orebank Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Powers; one daughter, Donna Jean DePriest; two sisters, Margaret Helen Booher and Thelma Jean Carter; and one brother, James Fogle. Survivors include three sons, Craig Powers, Greg Powers and wife Cheri, and Jon Powers and wife Danielle; three daughters, Vicki Hicks, Margaret Powers, and Shirley Leonard and husband Greg; fourteen grandchildren, Courtney, Jesi, Dylan, Tyler, Nathaniel, Sierra, Logan, Emily, Nicholas, Sydney, Lucas, Bella, Nia and a very special granddaughter, Kadey; two great grandchildren, Jaelyn and Gabriela; two brothers, Harold Fogle and wife Peggy and Bob Fogle and wife Lynn; one sister-in-law, Helen Fogle; Special Niece, Pam Long and husband Charles, and several other nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Faye Bledsoe. All services for Mrs. Sandra “Nicky” Powers will be private. Burial will be in the Garden of the Well at East Lawn Memorial Park.
