Samuel Campbell, Jr., 84, passed away during the early morning hours of Wednesday (July 25, 2018) following an extended illness. Samuel was born on March 1, 1934 in Kingsport, TN to the late Sam & Berta (Smith) Campbell.
Samuel was a faithful member of Assembly of God Church. He unselfishly served our country in the United States Air Force for two terms. He was a man that always worked hard to provide for his family. Samuel and his wife were foster parents for many special need children, later adopting five of those children. Samuel loved to watch TV, especially Western shows, he loved guns, and loved to cook. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend; he will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his two wives, Angela and Retha Campbell; daughter, Bethany Campbell; son, Samuel Campbell, III; two brothers, Kenneth and Kamaill Campbell; and brother-in-law, Jay Marshall.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Georgeina McKinney & husband Mark; two sons, Stewart Campbell & wife Tamika and Daniel Campbell & wife Andrea; brother, Jack Campbell; three sisters, Gaynell Smith & husband Wayne, Patricia Galloway & husband Carl, and Leta Marshall; sister-in-law, Jacklyn Campbell; 12 grandchildren, Keslie, Jaren, Kylon, Jearni, Campbell, Mack, Joshua, MaeAnn, Angela, Alicia, Daniel, and Angelice; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday (July 30, 2018) from 10 am to 12 pm in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at noon with Rev. Paul Wright officiating.
Committal services will be held on Monday (July 30, 2018) at 1:45 at Mountain Home National Cemetery (53 Memorial Ave Mountain Home, TN 37684) with military rites provided by American Legion Posts 3/265.
