Ruth C. Stickley, age 89 of Kingsport, entered into rest on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center, after a lengthly illness. She was a Danville, Virginia native, and the daughter of the late Vesper and Georgia Cook. Mrs. Stickley was a former employee of Dr. Joe Soloman’s office for over 20 years. She was a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold S. Stickley, Sr. in 2003, and a daughter, Faye Stickley Doty in 1980.
Survivors include: a son, Harold Stickley, Jr. and his wife Michele; a daughter, Barbara Kirk; Grandchildren: Anne Doty Smith and her husband David, Adam Kirk and his wife Glenda, Aaron Stickley, Blake Stickley and Sydney Stickley; great-grandchildren: Rachel Kirk, Ross Kirk, Andrew Kirk, Emily Kirk and Jenna Smith, along with several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor David Smith officiating.
