Patricia Lynn Armstrong Stapleton

Mrs. Patricia Lynn Stapleton, 65, of Bristol, VA, reunited with her beloved husband, her mother and family through the grace of God on July 28, 2014. She was born on November 24, 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Stapleton; her parents, June and Norman Armstrong, and her grand-parents; Opal and Dencil Jones and Orville and Wilma Armstrong. Pat was a very gracious and giving person. She was a school teacher for 30 years and touched many people’s lives. Pat was selfless and loved her family and always put their needs first. She loved to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they brought her much joy and happiness. Pat’s hobbies included playing cards and board games, reading, gardening, taking photos and traveling many places around the world with her husband and children. She also enjoyed attending the theater and was a dedicated member of Reynolds United Methodist Church. Pat’s character was courageous, wise, feisty, and most of all she had a heart that left a loving impression on those she met forever. She was an amazing teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, and will be celebrated and missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her eight children, Shanna Stapleton, Danielle Pannell, Sharon Crotts, Bill Stapleton, Sandy Andis, Linda Stapleton, George Stapleton and Larry Stapleton; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with the Reverend Laura Plaster officiating. Burial will follow the service in The Garden of the Good Shepherd of East Lawn Memorial Park.
