Born June 8, 1934, to the late George and Lola Mae Brown, June devoted her life to being a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Always known for being a very hard worker, June was the former co-owner of Brown’s Grocery Store and A & A Window Cleaning Services. June enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, quilting and making her famous strawberry jam. She was a thirty five year member of The Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ; having served as church secretary for many of those years. June was always willing to lend a helping hand or eager to send up a prayer for those in need. She will forever be missed by her loving family, church family and friends.
Other than her parents, June is preceded in death by her first husband of thirty six years,Gaston Gunnels; three brothers, Clois Brown, Carl “Bud” Brown and Frank Brown; three sisters, Clara Fleming, Doris Davis and Elene Gunnels; and great grandchild, Hundley Wong.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of thirty one years, George “Clint” Adams; two sons, Paul Gunnels and David (Kathy) Gunnels; two step daughters, Cindy (Rodney) Hentchel and Tammy (Dan) Wilder- Warner; one brother, Wayne (Winnie) Brown; seven grandchildren, Angela (Camilo) Molina, Joshua (Anne) Gunnels, Christopher (Ashley) Gunnels, Sarah (Jeremy ) Wong, Elizabeth (Ayoub) Salhi, Dustin Wilder and Jessica (Jonathan) Harb; twelve great grandchildren, with one on the way; and several special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home, of Kingsport, TN, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 12-2PM.
Funeral services will be held following the visitation, in the funeral home chapel, at 2PM, with Bro. Tim Lovell and Bro. Keaton Snyder officiating.
Interment to immediately follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
