Mary Thomas

She was born in Hansonville, VA; March 6,1930, to the late McCoy Hicks and Martha Johnson Hicks.

Mary attended school in Hansonville until her family moved to Kingsport in 1944. Years later she was a Red Cross Nurse and worked for a long time at the Colonial Heights Jr High where her daughter went to school.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Raymond Thomas, 5 brothers, 1 sister, 3 nephews, and 2 nieces. She also had a cat named Whitney whom she loved so much.

The family would like to say thank you to the Amedisys of Kingsport for the special care that was given and loving atmosphere that was shown. Thanks to all the nurses, Malika Richardson, Laura Stanford, Patty Royce. We would also like to give thanks to the Colonial Heights Family practice. Dr. Elizabeth Palmer, and the entire staff at NHC. Thank you all very much.

A graveside service will be held inside the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home, Friday December 13, 2024 at 2pm.
