Mary Ella Davis

Mary Ella Davis, age 91 passed away February 15, 2024. She was born and raised on a working farm in Kingsport (Rock Springs), TN. She was the last surviving child of Guy H. and Betty Blanch (Owens) King. She is preceded in death by her brothers Edward Lee King and Charles Horton King. As well as sisters Betty Lois Morrell and Verna Mae Bridwell.

Mary moved to Washington D.C. where she worked at the Pentagon. She is also preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Richard Davis whom she met on a blind date at the Valentine dance 72 years ago in Washington D.C. while he was serving in the military. Together they moved to Allentown, PA and raised 2 daughters. Mary was employed by Hess’s department store in Allentown, PA until retiring. The love of TN was strong so Mary and Bill returned to TN and settled onto their perfect little acre.

Mary is survived by her daughters Connie Ruth Davis and Joyce Marie (Davis) LeBaron and grandchildren Richard Lee Stephens, his wife Sara L. Stephens, Deborah Corinne Stephens, and Jamie Edward Gross as well as great grandchildren Zachary Edwin Gross, William Lewis Stephens, Anna Catherine Stephens and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held Sunday February 18, 2024 at 9am at East Lawn Memorial Park.
