Mary Hill Dail, age 90 of Blountville, received her heavenly reward on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Dail was a Kingsport native and the daughter of the late Mark Harvey and Lean Gaut Whitcomb. She was a 1940 graduate of Blountville High School and attended Tusculum College. Mrs. Dail served her country in the United States Navy as a WAVE from 1944-1946 and achieved the rank of SK-1. She was a WWII Veteran and was stationed at Mechanicsburg, PA. Mrs. Dail was a member of Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church and also attended Blountville Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Deery Queens Red Hat Society. Mrs. Dail retired from AFG Industries after 23 years of service.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph C. Johnson of Kingsport, in 1980 and by her second husband, Rhea A. Dail of Blountville, in 2001. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Marshal Fleenor officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
