Mary Ann Lassiter-Cormier, 82, of Blountville, passed away on April 22, 2021, after many weeks of hospitalization and rehab care. She was born in Galveston, TX, on October 31, 1938, to the late Rev. C. C., Sr. and Beulah (Mann) Lassiter. Mary Ann was a homemaker and was a pastor’s wife for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, writing poems, cooking, and reading her Bible. Mary Ann especially loved being with her family and her church family. She was a dedicated servant of her Lord Jesus Christ and a faithful member of her church.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by her infant son, Randy Alan Cormier; grandson, Allun Cormier; brothers, Calvin Lassiter, Jr., A. G. Lassiter, and Charlie Lassiter; sisters, Kathryn Killebrew and Cora Lee Twiner.
Those left to cherish her memory include husband, Rev. Burnice Cormier; one sister, Verdell Keeler; two brothers, Jim (Barbara) Lassiter, and David Lassiter; three sons, Ricky Lynn Cormier, Kenneth Ray (Kathy) Cormier, and Timmy Duane (Jackie) Cormier; nine grandchildren, Ricky Cormier, Angela Cormier, Kristy Cormier, Karen (Nate) Golden, Duane (Courtney) Cormier, Joel Cormier, Samuel (Janike) Cormier, Rose Cormier, and Daniel (Leah) Cormier; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will gather at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 for visitation at East Lawn. Mary Ann will be laid to rest at 3:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Memories. The family will have a private time at the graveside, followed by a graveside service at 3:15 pm, with Pastor Tim Cormier officiating.
A Memorial Service celebrating the Life and Home-Going of Mary Ann will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 8, 2021, at her home church – Apostolic Faith Tabernacle of Bristol, Tennessee, with Pastor Tim D. Cormier officiating.
