Margaret C. Waterman

Margaret Cook Waterman, age 83, of Harrisburg, North Carolina, formerly of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Carolina Medical Center in Concord, North Carolina. Mrs. Waterman was a native of Barrett, West Virginia, and the daughter of the late Ashby and Alma Greene Cook. Mrs. Waterman retired as a school teacher in West Virginia after 38 years of service. She loved going out to dinner and shopping. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Waterman in 2000; sister, Loretta White; brothers: Charles W. Cook and Dennis E. Cook; nephew, Timothy Cook; sister-in-law, Virginia Cook and a brother-in-law, Ersil White. She was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church before moving to Concord.

Survivors include her sister, Mildred “Millie” Welch; brother, Bernard Cook and wife Julia; sister-in-law, Delores Cook; several special nieces and nephews and one special great niece, Stephanie Raymond and husband Jonathan and children: Brock Delaney and Sydney Raymond.

A Funeral Service for Margaret Cook Waterman will be conducted on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Robert Countis, officiating. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in honor of Mrs. Waterman to Mountain View United Methodist Church, 4405 Orebank Road, Kingsport, TN, 37664.
