Johnny Errol Slaughter, 75, passed away on Tuesday (March 19, 2019) at his home with his loving family by his side. Johnny was born on December 7, 1943 in Bristol, VA to the late Walter & Pauline (Pridemore) Slaughter.
Johnny enjoyed the simplicity of life. He loved antique cars, attending car shows, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of No Name Car Club. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 34 years of dedicated service. Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by brother, Robert “Bobby” Slaughter.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Slaughter; son, John Allen Slaughter; two daughters, Shannon Miner & husband Pat and Teresa Slaughter; brother, Donnie Slaughter & wife Dreama; two sisters, Patty Williams & husband Rick and Kathy Bennett; five grandchildren, Joe, Michael, Katie, Haley, and John Morgan; two great-grandchildren, Elaina and Elly-Kay; “special buddy”, J.D.; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday (March 24, 2019) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home.
