I had the pleasure of working for and with 
Dr. Gonce  for several years at HMG.  He was a delight in our office!  His kindness and laughter will be remembered fondly!

I just today learned of Dr. Gonce’s passing and am very sorry to hear this. Prayers for you and your family.

I remember Dwight from our Miller Perry elementary school days. He was always the cleanest and neatest boy in school, sharp as a tack and a truly good young man. I was blessed to have made his acquaintance and so proud to see that he made a career as a physician doing such good for so many. I knew he was destined for something great wearing that bowtie in our school photos. "Well done good and faithful servant," the Kingdom of Heaven was always within you. I knew Joel since I was in practice in Kingsport 1984-2000 . Since then we’ve connected through the local Emmaus community. He always had a smile and something good to say. He was an example of Christ’s servant and his faith was shown every time we met. I saw him a few weeks ago, and he had that wonderful smile I knew him for, even though I knew he didn’t feel well. When I see him again I know he’ll be smiling.

Joel Gonce was a fine man and a great physician. He was a patient centered practitioner. Always smiling to brighten the days of others, he lived a Christ centered life . He will be sadly missed. His family can be proud that he lived a rich life serving his God, his family, his patients, and his fellow man well. Richard K. Reed, M.D.

He was our family doctor growing up in TN for years. After I got my nursing, I would run into him at various nursing homes or places of him seeing patients and he would always give me a big hug and we would sit and chat about life and our families for a while. Working in hospice, I would look up and he would attend our patients funerals. He served all humanity with such humility and loving care. He never acting like he had all the answers or made you feel insignificant but believed in the higher power of the Lord Jesus. Rest In Peace. You served Him well. 😇🙏🏻❤️

Dr Gonce was our family doctor over 30 years ago and me and my sister babysat his children. I was thinking about him the other day and how doctors like him are hard to find. May the Lord be with your family during this loss.

Brother Gonce was one of the most godly Christian men I've had the pleasure of meeting. A Bible scholar and teacher. The Gonce family have impacted my wife (Brenda) and mine (Gene) over the years. Thanks and condolences for your loss, but Heaven is rejoicing with his presence.

I am so sorry for your loss and you are all in my prayers.

He was my childhood doctor at hmg for 20 years. He was a great doctor but an even better person. He will be greatly missed. I ran into him at the tire barn on stone drive while he was getting tires for his mini van. I had been diagnosed with breast cancer. He talked to me, hugged me, and told me he would pray for him. You couldn’t ask for a better man. But the one thing I remember the most was his ties. Especially his Christmas ones. Another gone too soon. 

Sandra, so very sorry you have lost Dwight.  Prayers for your comfort are being voiced to heaven.  Only those who have lost a spouse understand.  May God strengthen you in the coming days. 

So very sorry to hear of the loss of a gentle physician and friend.  We worked together at intervals for over 40 years.  He certainly loved his Lord.  God bless you all as you walk this path of loss.
