Jean P. Radford, age 72 of Kingsport, Tennessee entered into rest on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Radford was a Sullivan county native and the daughter of the late Harold “Pete” Peters and Julia Wade Peters. She attended Lynn View High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from East Tennessee State University. Mrs. Radford was a former teacher at Lynn Garden Elementary School. She was a very talented artist and crafter. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her biological father, Benjamin Eugene Wade and a granddaughter, Kayley Jean Franklin.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Philip Radford; sons: Steven Franklin and wife Charlotte, Scott Franklin and wife LeAnn; daughter, Karen Franklin Henard and husband Philip; step-son: Joseph Radford, John Radford and wife Patricia, Jim Radford and wife Jamie; grandchildren: Whitney Henard Hancock and husband Bobby Joe, Autumn Henard Harris and husband Adam, Jaden Henard, Matt Franklin and wife Kaley, Wesley Franklin, Savannah Franklin and Ally Franklin; step grand children: Alesha Radford Napier, John Radford, Jeanie Radford, Amanda Radford Lambert, Joshua Radford, Jesse Radford, Jacob Radford and Emma Radford; great grandchildren: Brady, Brysen, Bevyn and Baylor Hancock and Brylea and Zander Harris; step great grandchildren: Annabell and Kayleigh Lambert and sisters: Brenda Peters Light, Donna Peters Warner and Kaye Peters.
A Celebration of Life Service for Jean P. Radford will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 145 Shipp Springs Road, Kingsport, TN with Reverend Elwood Peters and Pastor David Peters officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment for Mrs. Radford will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in East Lawn Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. for the service.
